The Interdependent Function between English Reading and Writing

英语阅读与写作同属对英语书面语言的学习与运用。阅读和写作是两项相对独立而又相互依赖、互相促进的技能。阅读是写作的基础和源泉,是学习者获取语言信息和知识信息的过程;写作则是对已储存的信息进行加工后创造性地输出的过程。

In English learning, both reading and writing skills belong to the learning of written language. Reading and writing are two reciprocal acts of comprehending and composing, mutually facilitative entities that support each other. On one hand, reading is an input process, through which the learner can acquire linguistic knowledge as well as the information needed, which serve as the basis and source for writing. On the other hand, writing is an output process, through which the learner expresses his ideas with the learned knowledge. 
