古方安宫牛黄丸出自《温病条辨》,具有开通心窍、定惊、清热解毒的功效。中医应用此丸剂治邪热内陷,神志昏迷,以及惊厥或痰热卒中,小儿惊风等热闭证候。本教研室对天津达仁堂配制的安宫牛黄丸和注射剂进行了神经系统、心血管系统和机体耗氧量的药理实验。

"AN GONG NIU HUANG" pill is an ancient chinese medicament, which consists of many chinese herbs. In this paper the pharmacological effects of AN GONG NIU HUANG on the central nervous system and oxygen consumption of the body were studied.The experimental results have shown that the spontaneous motor activity of mice was significantly depressed by the I. P. or oral administration of AN GONG NIU HUANG. In the central nervous system, the depressant activity of phenobarbital was also enhanced by this medicament. In addition, injection of 1ml/kg AN GONG NIU HUANG solution produces a fall in rectal temperature in TAB-tripI vaccine induced fever in rabbits, but there is no effect on the body temperature of animals without fever, Oral administration of An Gong Niu Huang suspension does not influence the body temperature of febrile or afebrile rabbits. An Gong Niu Huang has hypnotic action in mice and meanwhile the oxygen consumption of the body is decreased.
