马克思主义具有与时俱进的理论品质。党的思想路线从实事求是到解放思想、实事求是,再到解放思想、实事求是、与时俱进,经历了三个发展阶段。全面深刻领会新时期党的思想路线,科学地把握与时俱进的准确含义,就是要从"体现时代性,把握规律性,富于创造性"三个方面加以深刻领会。与时俱进体现了对马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论的继承和发展。
