法治与德治是治国的重要手段 ,它们各有优缺点。根据中国社会的特点以及目前我国的国情 ,我们应该继承德治传统的合理内核 ,同时吸收法治的合理因素 ,建设具有中国特色的社会主义法治国家。

Ruling the country by law' and “running the country by virtue” are both important measures of running the country, each having its merits and demerits. In line with the characteristics of the Chinese society and our current national conditions, we should carry forward the rational core of the tradition of running the country by virtue and assimilate the reasonable element of running the country by laws so as to build a socialist country ruled by law with Chinese characteristics.
