On the Cause of Tragedy in Thunderstorm

《雷雨》再现了当时半殖民地半封建的社会,通过对封建资本家周朴园及其仆人两个家庭,八个悲剧人物矛盾冲突的描写,揭露了一幕幕的家庭悲剧、社会现实以及当时人的生存困境,在一定程度上揭示了人类的心灵困境,本文试从性格、命运和社会三个方面论述《雷雨》悲剧的成因。

Thunderstorm reconstructs a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society of that time. It reveals scenes of family tragedy, social reality, and survival plight of human being by description of two families between feudal capitalist Zhou Puyuan and his servant and the conflict among eight tragic characters. It uncovers a spirit plight of human being to a certain degree. This article illustrates the causes of Thunderstorm from and character, fate and society.
