Mr.Huo Songlin is a well-known humanist in the 20 th century and worked as a teacher for more than 70 years, accumulating rich experinces in teaching methods of ancient literature, forming clear education ideas and peculiar thoughts and greatly influencing the training of our cultural inheritance. Mr.Huo's education thoughts can beroughly genealized as follows: emphasize the knowledge and the capability simutaneously; teaching and reseachingshould be paid equal attention,but teaching is the mre important; application always comes first; special knowledgeand comprehensive knowledge should be stressed but essentias are the basic; teaching by examples. The study andpromotion of Mr.Huo's education thoughts will exert obvious effect on ancient literature study.
