Global Positioning of Chinese Cities:Problem Domains and Growing Points of Global Cities

'全球城市'是全球化时代针对新国际分工、世界体系应运而生的一个城市概念、一种观察视角和一股发展趋势。自'全球城市'正式提出,迄今已近三十年,但无论是学术研究还是政策语境,皆存在一定的模糊地带和失焦区域。继《国家新型城镇化发展规划》提出建设京津冀、长三角、珠三角三大世界级城市群.

'Global City'is a concept of city,an observational perspective and a trend of development in the era of globalization for the new international division of labor and the emergence of the world system.It has been nearly 30 years since'Global City'was officially proposed.However,there are some vague zones and missing areas in both academic and policy.Following the'National New Urbanization Development Plan'proposed to build three world-class urban agglomerations in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta,the'Shanghai Master Urban Planning(2017—2035)'and the'Outline of Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area Development Planning'were issued,the'Yangtze River Delta Regional Integration'was put on the agenda again.This series of intensive urban layout means what kind of turning of the global positioning and development philosophy of Chinese cities,and calls for what kind of new logical framework,conceptual model,dynamic mechanism and transformation strategy of global cities?To this end,we invited well-known scholars at home and abroad to jointly organize a round table on'Global Positioning of Chinese Cities',hoping to make a systematic inventory of the problem domains and growth points of global cities,and to promote the transformation and upgrading of Chinese cities in the world.
