Concept of Bide Revealed in Jing Hao's Landscape Painting

"比德"作为中国古代美学中的一个重要命题,对中国绘画具有很大的影响。"比德"即人们以自然物所具有的某些特性来隐喻、象征人的品格。荆浩的山水画深受儒家比德思想的影响,在结构布局、骨法气势方面,及其审美价值取向与审美形态上,形成其独特的比德风格。

Bide is an important conception in ancient Chinese aesthetics. It had very great influence in Chinese Paining. People usually use the properties of some natural objects to symbolize the noble morality and spirit of the people,which is what we called Bide. It had great influence in Jing Hao's landscape painting so to form his unique Bide style in structure and layout,bone and momentum,the value of orientation and aesthetic pattern.
