Jasmine Ward is an African-American female writer.One of her most welcomed novels——Salvage the Bones was awarded the National Book Award for Fiction in 2011.Seemingly,This novel tells the story of an 14-year old African-American teenage girl,losing herself under the oppression from patriarchy and racism and her way to growth,but actually under this superficial narrative,the author attempts to explore the way for black women to gain subjectivity and self-salvation.
