On May 27,Wang Liqin claimed the men's singles title to complete China's total dominance at the world table tennis championships held in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The second seed toppled compatriot Ma Lin by four sets to three to leave China heading home with all five gold medals on offer ahead of next year's Beijing Olympics. The final was a repeat of the 2005 edition in Shanghai and the result was the same with Wang rallying after going two sets down against the top seed. China emulated their 2005 tally by collecting 13 of the 15 medals on offer in Zagreb.
