The story of the three Brontesisters—Charlotte(1816—55),Emily(1818—48)and Anne(1820—49)is oneof the most interesting and saddestpages iu the history of English litera-ture.They were the daughters of apoor clergyman in the little village ofHaworth,Yorkshire,in northern Eng-land.Their mother died in 1821,Sothe six children,5 girls and a boy be-came motherless early in their child-
