江泽民同志在十六大报告中提出"创新是一个民族进步的灵魂,是一个国家兴旺发达的不竭动力,也是一个政党永葆生机的源泉"这一伟大论断,为我国在新世纪将如何利用新科技革命的机遇来赶超发达国家指明了方向,同时也为我国科技发展战略的确立作出了历史性贡献。
In the 16th CPC Congress Report, Jiang Zemin points out, 'Innovation sustains the progress of a nation. It is an inexhaustible motive force for the prosperity of a country and the source of the eternal vitality of a political party.' This important statement has pointed out the direction for China to catch up with the world by taking advantage of the opportunity of new scientific and technological revolution, and is a great historic contribution to the development strategy of China's science and technology.
