摘要
讨论了一种用于CATV/ISDN/VOD的新型光纤到户无源光网络(PON),该网络使用了高能激光器、远程泵浦的掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)、经济的下行接收机和上行半导体激光器,在CATV本地环路中可大幅度地减少设备费用。该网络采用了避免受激布里渊散射(SBS)技术和EDFA远程泵浦技术,从而提高了系统的可靠性和稳定性。
In the paper,a new type of fiber to the home PON cable network is discussed.The concept uses high power lasers,remote pumping erbium doped fiber amplifiers,economical receivers for the downstream direction and laser diodes for upstream direction to reduce cost by high splitting ration in local loop.A new method to avoid stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)and remote pumping of the EDFA are applied to enhance the reliability and stability of the network.
