Transition of Some Public Colleges to Private Colleges: Rethinking of Non-governmental Colleges

发展独立学院正在成为发展我国民办高等教育的一种新的思路 ,新的重大举措。为着促进民办高等教育的多样化发展 ,我们认为可以在发展独立学院的基础上更进一步 ,即直接实施部分公立高校向民办高校的转制。本文在回顾我国高等教育办学体制改革历程的基础上 。

Establishment of independent colleges is an emerging trend and strategy for developing the higher education in China. In order to foster the diversity of private colleges, we believe that further steps should be taken to facilitate the transition of some public schools to private colleges on the basis of establishment of independent colleges. This paper, reviewing the reform process of the public colleges, makes a study of the impact of the transition of public colleges to private colleges and the necessary strategies.
