Wuthering Heights is not a conventional novel. The book attracts the reader precisely because it gives no easy answers to its sentences. In this paper,the author intends to explain three kinds of meanings of one sentence:'I in come home'. The first meaning is that Catherine wants to come from the desolate moor to her family. The second meaning is that Catherine wants to come from the civilized world to the uncivilized world. The third meaning is that Catherine wants to come from her love for Edgar to her love for Heathcliff. Only a simple sentence could express the complex inner world and the mixed feelings of the protagonist. This is the uniqueness of Wuthering Heights. It's really a masterpiece in English literature.
