A Study on the Short Story of Late Qing Dynasty

本文试图描述晚清时期对"短篇小说"的理解,考察当时短篇小说的状况。在翻译小说的影响下,此时的"短篇小说"已经开始与古代短篇小说分离,逐渐向新的方向前进。

It's trying to describe the recognition of the concept of Short Story in the late Qing Dynasty and the situations relative to short story in that time in this article. It also shows that under the influence of the western fictions being translated into Chinese, some of the short story published in the period of late Qing Dynasty had begun to escaped from the style of traditional Chinese short story and moved slowly towards a new kind of style.
