《十日谈》与“三言二拍”都是中世纪末期出现的市民短篇小说,二者都在作品中不同程度地展现了市民阶层的人生观和价值观,都不同程度地展现了人文主义和民主主义的思想意识。然而,由于东西方文化传统、民族性格、社会环境等的差异性,使二种小说所展现的人文主义的思想意识呈现出不同的形态和走向。

As a form of literature for burghers in late medieval times, both Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron and Three Collections of Short Stories Edited by Feng Menglong reveal in varying degrees townspeople's values and their oudook on life as well as humanism and democratic ideology,but vary in their forms and trends owing to the differences between East and West in their cultural traditions, national characters and social environments.
