摘要
The study of the policies of the East Han Dynasty towards North Xiongnu has laid particular emphasis on the military expeditions and their positive or negative effects. The author holds that these policies included not only military expeditions but also ambassadors, negotiation and the use of South Xiongnu to control North Xiongnu. The author also holds that we should have an objective evaluation of the policies for the military expeditions of North Xiongnu during the period of Emperor Zhang and Emperor He.
