Arguing from the perspectives of the non-equivalence within and beyond conceptual meaning of words in different cultures,this paper makes an effort through examples to identify certain re-flections as well as influences of cultural differences in word translation.And with an affirmative attitude towards the value of cultural comparison on cross-cultural translation,it ponders deeply over the intercultural awareness in the process of translation,which involves both examining vigor-ously for cultural discrepancies and thoroughly understanding cultural characteristics of words.
