As an important teaching tool,a dictionary is learners'good teacher and their helpful friend as well.In English learning and application,it can help solve many knotty problems and also offer a lot of valuable information to the expression of English writing and speaking.But,so far,many learners haven't yet realized this point.They can not make full use of the applicable value of a dictionary.It's very necessary to understand and master the brief history of a dictionary,the features of its compilation and the rich information it contains.In addition,though there are various kinds of dictionar es,the rate of their use is quite low.This is a noticeable and urgently solved problem indeed.
