Uncertain system with dead time is a class of complex process in the production of petroleum industry, chemical industry, power industry, metallurgy industry, medicine making industry,and the industry of making by fermentation,and its control has been a problem bewildering the automatic control experts. This paper describes the methods of Smith predictive control,variable structure control, robust control, and predictive control and points out their developing tendency.
