On Strategic Principles and Strategies For Developing CHINA's Higher Distance Education in the New Century

面对21世纪经济和社会发展的多重挑战,发展现代远程教育被公认为应对各种挑战的重大教育举措。本文在“十六字”方针基础上更明确地提出了发展我国远程高等教育的若干基本原则和基本设想,对于制订我国现代远程教育的规划和决策以及远程高等教育的办学实践有一定的参考价值。

Facing the challenges of economic and social development in the 21st cenntury, it is generally regarded as a crucial solution to develop modern distance education in China. In the light of the 16 Words Principle established by the Ministry of Education, the author has discussed some strategic principles and strategies on further developing higher distance education in China, which are hoped to be helpful to correlative designing, decision-making and practising.
