According to the development plan for social economy in Ningbo by early 21st century,essential modermization will be realized by 2020,when the city will reach the level of average economically-developed areas and Gross National Product (GNP)per capita will be ＄11,000 Great efforts will be made for the development of tertiary industry,foreign-market-oriented economy,the introduction and exploration of high/new technology and the development of electronic information industry,hence there comes an urgent demand for the modernization of occupational education.By this strategy,main support will be given to the construction of a set of modernized backbone specialities closely related to the development of economy and industry here,so that modernization of such education will be promoted and a corresponding system devised for the new century will be gradually formed.
