道光时期的“湘系经世派”的经世思想是对中国优秀文化传统和湖湘文化的继承与发展 ,既有湖南地区的特色 ,在全国亦有代表性。他们鄙弃宣谈 ,强调通经致用 ,重视解决当时政治、经济、军事的实际问题 ,兴利除弊 ,倡行改革 ,力求把经学理论引向为国计民生事业服务。

Ldedlogy of Hunan “Jinshi” School during the period of Emperor Daoyuang is an inheritance and development of Chinese excellent cuturul tradition and Hunan culture.It has not only the Hunan local character,but also the representative meaning in China.They abandon empty talk, give emphasis on applying the thought to practice, pay attention to solving the economical,political and military problems of that time.They also promote what is benefical and abolish what is harmful, propose informatior,and try to serve for mationel economy and the people's livelihood with these thoeries of “Jinshi” school.
