毛泽东对中国资本主义的认识是矛盾的,这表现在两方面,一方面,认为资本主义是中国社会发展中不可避免的过程,社会主义建设需要资本主义;另一方面,随着国内外形势的变化,毛泽东消极地认为资产阶级正在向无产阶级发起猖狂进攻,社会主要矛盾是无产阶级与资产阶级的矛盾,为使资本主义在地球上绝种,掀起了大规模的阶级斗争,给国家造成了巨大损失。
