摘要
对中国古籍中出现的涉及“翡翠”的几个关键概念 ,如“翡翠珠玑”、“翡翠火齐”、“翡翠玫瑰 "、“翡翠笔床”、“点翠”、“明珠翡翠”、“翠玉”等 ,运用历史的、训诂的、矿物学的和考古学的方法进行了重新诠释。认为这些“翡翠”概念都只能理解为翡翠鸟类或者翡翠羽毛类 。
This paper reviews several key concepts about feicui in ancient Chinese literature, such as feicui and zhenzhu, feicui and huoqi, feicui and meigui, feicui decoration, feicui brush and feicui inkstone, feicui and yu, etc., and gives out a completely new interpretation about them by using historical, interpretational, mineralogical and archaeological methods. All these feicui concepts as recorded in ancient Chinese literature before Qing Dynasty can only be interpreted as the kingfisher bird instead of jadeite jade, which was generally believed to be the right explanation by many scholars in China. And this new explanation constitutes the basis for the reinterpretation of the history of application of feicui as a kind of jade in China.
