论刘向对先秦儒学的继承和发展

On LIU Xiang's Succession to and Development of the Confucianism in Pre-Chin

西汉中期以后，儒家思想和儒士曾一度受压抑和贬斥。面对这种现象，刘向自觉地继承和维护先秦儒家思想，并以诸子之学丰富儒家思想，在儒学指向上不仅继承荀子重视事功的“外王”之学，而且以敬、谦、廉、诚等思想丰富孔子、孟子提倡的“内圣”之学，为儒学的发展作出了突出的贡献。

: After the middle period of the Western Han Dynasty, the Confucianism and the Confucians had been once oppressed and denounced. Being up against the situation, Liu Xiang succeeded to the Confucianism in Pre-Chin and protected it consciously by enriching the Confucianism with the thoughts of the various schools, by succeeding to the Study of Wai Wang which took the recognition of the social achievements in Xun Zi, and by enriching the Study of Nei Sheng advocated by Confucius and Meng Zi with the thoughts of respect, humility, probity and fidelity. Liu Xiang had made a great contribution to the development of the Confucianism.
