The components of control system for slab re-heating furnaces were introduced, and on-line optimum control system was established on the basis of math model of furnace conduction, the optimum control of furnace temperature was achieved. According to the power test and statistics in-situ, the heating quality of slab improved greatly compared with the re-heating furnace with no optimum control system, and the consumption of fuel decreased 5%, loss of oxide decreased 6% and great economy effects were achieved.
