人力车:近代城市化的一个标尺——以上海公共租界为考察点

The Rickshaw:A Measuring Scale for Urbanization in Mordern China——Starting form Examining the International Settlement in Shanghai

本文以上海公共租界为考察点 ,通过剖析市政当局人力车管理制度的“改良”和指导人力车夫的“自助” ,揭示中国近代城市化的痼疾与畸形 ;同时 ,从人力车夫的生存状况这一特殊的视角审视近代城乡关系以及城市下层民众的边缘特性。

Starting from examining the International Settlement in Shanghai, this paper revealed from the opposite way the chronic ailments and deformity in the urbanization of modern china through an anatomy on the reforms of municipal administration systems and a direction on the self-aid for rickshaw pullers. At the same time, it studies on the life of rickshaw pullers by investigating the relationship between the city and rural area and marginality of the lower class in cities.
