重新解读胡适及“问题与主义”之争

A new explanation of Hu Shi and the debate on "issue and doctrine

在研究胡适思想言论的过程中,既要避免掉入政治感情的"陷阱",又要充分把握胡适的思想言论多有偏激性和非严密性这一特点,把胡适在"问题与主义"之争中提出的主要观点全面地联系起来加以分析。从总的层面上来说,胡适在当时实际上提出了一个对我国社会发展具有长远现实意义的问题,即如何正确认识和处理"问题与主义"的关系。从具体层面来说,胡适在"问题与主义"之争中提出的某些观点是存在不足和漏洞的,但他同时也提出了不少直到今天也还有生命力的正确观点。"问题与主义"之争是"五四"时期新文化运动阵营内部发生的一场以方法论争论为核心的政治色彩很浓但却充满自由平等气氛的健康学术争论。

In the process of studying Hu Shi's thought and opinions,it is necessary not only to avoid falling into the 'trap' of political feeling,but also to sufficiently grasp the characteristic that most of Hu Shi's thought and opinions are somewhat extreme and not well organized,we need to do the analysis on the base of integrating all of Hu's opinions raised in the debate of 'issue and doctrine,rather than garbling a statementIn general,Hu Shi actually raised a question which is significant in the long run and practically for Chinese social development,that is,how to correctly understand and deal with the relation of 'issue and doctrine'In concrete,some of Hu's opinions raised in the debate of 'Issue and Doctrine' are deficient and flawed,but he also raises some views which is still alive todayThe debate of 'issue and doctrine' is a free,equal,friendly and healthy debate occurred within the New Culture Movement Camp in the period of May 4th movement around the methodology argument,though it has strong political flavor
