昔日的湘西百姓利用本地盛产的糯、籼米和杂粮加工成各类粑粑 ,作为礼品、祭品、食品 ,馈赠亲朋好友 ,敬奉神灵 ,丰富自身的主食 ,沿习成俗 ,随着经济的不断发达 ,此俗日趋淡化。
In Western Hunan,a variety of glutinous rice cakes made of native glutinous rice and some other grains have been presented friends and relatives,consecretated to Gods and enriched their staple foods.Now with the economic growth,the practice not so frequently observed
