昔日的湘西百姓利用本地盛产的糯、籼米和杂粮加工成各类粑粑 ,作为礼品、祭品、食品 ,馈赠亲朋好友 ,敬奉神灵 ,丰富自身的主食 ,沿习成俗 ,随着经济的不断发达 ,此俗日趋淡化。
