本文从科技进步发展过程、方法论的演变、实现 ITS的技术手段以及交通控制系统的发展过程等方面分析了智能交通系统 ( ITS)的形成过程 ,指出了交通系统智能化的必然趋势 .介绍了作者对智能化的理解 .

Analyzed in this paper is the forming process of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) that involves the advance of Science and Technology, the developing of methodology, the technical base of ITS was well as the developing process of traffic control systems. The inexorable tendency of ITS has been pointed out in future transportation systems. Author′s understanding of ″intelligent″ is alse introduced.
