数学的思想和方法已经渗透到几乎所有的社会科学，特别在经济学领域中取得了巨大的成功。数学教育的主要目标之一是教会学生掌握数学的思想方法并用以解决科学和实际问题。“问题解决”处于当代国际数学教育改革的主流之中。在数学教学改革实践中应用问题解决教学法，最重要的是把握其教学的指导思想，是教学观念的转变；其技术要点一是提出问题，二是创设课题情境。

Mathematical thought and method has penetrated into almost social disciplines and made great con- tributions in particular to the achievements in the realm of economics. One of the major goals of mathematical education aims at cultivating the learner's mathematical notion so as to encourage the learner to attempt seientific solutions to theoretical and pragmatic problems. The Problem Solving Approach reflects the current international trend in the mathematics education reform. A good comprehension of the foundations for the approach together with a corresponding adaptation to the approach is essential before the approach can be put into full practice. The introdction of the approach into practical teaching hinges upon the ways of raising questions and creating stimulants for the subject.
