Jews and "Tamude

《塔木德》,它既是一部宏伟的律法汇编,又是一部文学巨著。它有12000页,译成汉语约有550万字。中国学术界已基本上获得共识,犹太民族是"酷爱书的民族",(Thepeopleofthebook),此书指的就是《塔木德》。[1](P5)自该书出现以后1500多年来,无论是专门从事犹太文化研究的犹太专家,还是普通的犹太平民百姓,他们对《塔木德》的学习是无止境的。这现象本身在世界历史上也是罕见的。

Tamude' is either a grand collection of laws or a great literary work with 12000 pages equal to 5.50 million translated Chinese characters. It is commonly acknowledged in the Chinese academic field that Jewish nation is 'a bookloving nation'. 'The People of the Book ' refers to 'Tamude'. For 1500 years after the publication of 'Tamude' the book has ceaselessly been read not only by Jewish experts on Jewish culture, but also by ordinary Jewish people. This is very rare in the history of the world.
