CCS HAS GONE THROUGH A COURSE OF 45 YEARS

无论世界怎么变化,一种传统的交流手段始终影响着人们的生活--那就是船舶和航运. 占地球表面积约71%的海洋将陆地分割,这就决定了各国之间的物质交流必须依靠海上交通.统计表明,国际贸易的90%的份额由海上船舶运输.而承担海上风险管理的公益性机构--船级社,则是船舶在浩瀚海洋安全航行的有力保障.

CCS is a full member of IACS, but also the youngest among the ten members. Due to historical reasons, CCS could only be born after the founding of new China and fast developed with the reform and opening-up policy. Within 45 years, CCS has been dedicated to safeguarding safety and development of shipping, shipbuilding and trade, strongly supported China to be a category-A council member of IMO for consecutive years, and endeavored to help China to develop from a closed and weak shipping country to an open and large shipping power in the world. CCS has also taken an active part in developing international rules and played an important role in observing such rules and regulations in the international maritime community.If without a classification society of its own, China would have not only had to duplicate the bitter history when we fell into the hands of others but also slowed down the steps of its maritime industry to catch up with the international development. History has told us that any country or organization can only become strong by relying on its own pains-taking efforts. It is inspired by such a spirit of self-reliance and hard work that CCS has grasped the great opportunity of reform and development to fulfill its missions, and has achieved eye-catching accomplishmentsl At present, CCS has established 57 branches and offices at home and 17 others abroad. It has got authorizations from governments of 22 countries and regions to conduct statutory survey and certification in their behalf and has won ever-high credit within the international maritime industry. CCS is now marching ahead to join the 1st rate classification societies in the world.
