自从基因一词在20世纪初进入科学家的词汇表以来,它不仅是生物学家最为常用的词汇之一,也成为当今普通大众最为熟悉的科学术语之一.
The recent progresses of life science have made researchers rethink the relationship between gene and envi- ronment instead of'genetic determinism'.First,the so-called'Junk DNA'can play an important role in biological activities.Secondly,'epigenetics'shows that DNA or chromatin modifications without changes of DNA sequences are hereditable.Moreover,the functions of genes are tightly dependent on the environment contexts.
