异体词的名称、概念和范围 ,是异体词研究整理工作中的基本问题。异体词的本质属性可以概括为现代汉语书面语的“一词多形”或“同词异体”现象 ,应该根据此点确定异体词的范围。凡是用几个不同的书面形式来记录同一语词的现象 ,不管它们的读音是全同还是微异 ,都属于异体词的范围。存在着读音微异的异体词是现代汉语书面语中不可否认的事实。所谓“条件异体词”以义项为观察对象 ,几个书面形式所记录的不是同一个词 ,因而不属于异体词的范围。比较而言 。

The term, definition and scope of yitici (a variant form of a Chinese character) is a fundamental issue in the research of yitici . The essential features of yitici can be summarized as such a phenomenon: in modern written Chinese a character has different forms. So the scope of yitici should be determined by this feature. If a word can be recorded in several written forms, these written forms all belong to the scope of yitici whether their sounds are all the same or differ slightly. The phenomenon of yitici with slightly different pronunciation is undeniable in modern written Chinese. The so called 'conditional yitici ' refers to the fact that several written forms are examined according to their meaning, but they do not record the same word; therefore, such written forms do not belong to the scope of yitici . Comparatively speaking, the term yitici conforms to the principle of conciseness of the conceptual system of Chinese linguistics.
