The importance and the necessity ofpipeline NDT (nondestructive testing) is elaborated. Pro-gresses in ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing andpipeline robots, the development of pipeline NDT autom-atization technologies at home and abroad were roundlyreviewed and synthetically analyzed. The developing ten-dency of pipeline NDT is also put forward.
