Arachidonic acid is attracting increasing attention due to its importance in human health and nutrition. As an essential fatty acid, it plays an important role in the physiological activity. Arachidonic acid may be obtained from fish oil, fungal and microalgae,but each process has obvious shortcoming. A new process for extracting arachidonic acid from algae is designed.
