毛泽东同志50多年前提出的"两个务必"精神,是对中外历史经验的科学总结,是马克思主义政党的本色。党的三代领导集体,在领导革命和建设的实践中,都真正做到了"两个务必",并坚持与时俱进,赋予了其新的时代内涵。新世纪新阶段,以胡锦涛同志为总书记的新的中央领导集体提出,高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜,全面贯彻"三个代表"重要思想,全面建设小康社会,开创中国特色社会主义事业新局面,必须牢记基本国情和党的庄严使命,牢记"两个务必",增强忧患意识,居安思危,牢固树立长期艰苦奋斗的思想。

The spirit of 'Two Musts' put forward by comrade Mao Zedong fifty years ago is the scientific summary of the historical experience domestic and abroad. It is the essence of Maxist party, as well as the inherent essential requirement of the CPC. In the process of leading revolution and construction, the leadership groups of the three generations of the CPC actually achieved 'Two Musts', and, keeping pace with times, they add new connotation to it. In the new century and new stage, the new central leadership group with comrade Hu Jintao as general secretary raise that to hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory, fully act on the important thought of 'Three Represents', build a welloff society in an allround way and create a new situation in building socialism with Chinese characteristics, we must keep the basic conditions of our country and Party's dignified mission firmly in mind, keep 'Two Musts' firmly in mind, be mindful of the potential danger and stay prepared against adversities in times of peace, and firmly adopt the idea of making arduous and strenuous efforts.
