摘要
对中高水平的学习者来说,词汇习得不仅包括大量生词的学习,更重要的是熟词生义的学习,是熟词多义的融会贯通。对大学英语专业一年级3个平行组所做的实验表明:集中接触高频熟词的多个义项及其搭配知识能够很快提高受试的理解性词汇知识,而在此基础上对这些义项进行组织整理则能提高受试的产出性词汇知识,这对于受试不熟悉义项产出性词汇知识来说效果尤其明显。
This paper evaluates the effect of instructional treatments involving exposure and semantic network building on the improvement of EFL learners' receptive/productive knowledge of highly familiar polysemous words. It is found that subjects who got the Exposure plus Semantic Network Building Treatment were better than those who only got the Exposure Treatment in the learning of unfamiliar meanings and collocations of highly familiar words, and that these were in turn better than those who got no treatment. Systematic exposure and knowledge organization are thus recommended for the learning of familiar polysemous words.
