This paper stresses on the importance of developing inter- cultural communication consciousness and competence of students. What is inter- cultural communication consciousness and what is inter- cultural communication competence are exprunded separately .In dealing with foreign language teaching, several methods are raised on how to develop the students 'inter- cultural communication competence .
