Study on the "Only Attach Importance to Jinshi" of Selection In the Middle and Later Period of Ming Dynasty

“独重进士”主要是指明中后期出现的铨选过于讲究进士出身的局面。其对当时政治产生了明显不良影响。形成这一局面的直接原因主要是官源供求状况的变化和进士所具有的独特优势,而其根源则是传统官僚体制下重形式而轻实际的痼疾。

Only attach importance to Jinshi' primarily indicates in the middle and later period of Ming Dynasty, there e-merged a situation that too much emphasize jinshi's class origin while selecting officials. This produced obvious and negative effect for politics at that time. The direct reason that forming this situation primarily is the supply and demand condition's variety of official source and the special advantage of Jinshi, but its foundation is the malady that under the traditional bureaucrat system stressing form but despising reality.
