在当代中国,建设社会主义政治文明,既要从政治文明发展的一般规律出发,积极借鉴人类政治文明的有益成果,更要坚持从中国现实国情出发,牢牢掌握社会主义民主的旗帜,立足社会主义初级阶段的实际,总结自己的实践经验,积极稳妥地推进政治体制改革,促进社会主义民主政治的渐进发展。

Building socialist political civilization in today's China should begin with the common law of political civilization and draw positive lessons from the rich achievements man has accomplished on this aspect. Furthermore, we should begin with China's actual situation, hold tightly the flag of socialist democracy and base everything on the fact that we are at the primary stage of socialism so as to summarize our practical experience, positively and steadily push on the reform of political system and advocate the gradual construction of socialist democratic politics.
