讽刺是社会生活中的语言艺术,讽刺诗是源远流长的世界性诗歌体裁。中西方政治、文化及诗歌生态的巨大差异造成了中西方讽刺诗在文体形态上的巨大差异。中国讽刺诗具有节制宽容的风格,嘲世的较多。西方讽刺诗直接尖锐,嘲人的较多。讽刺风格的差异决定了文体进化的激进与保守。中国讽刺诗人做人的保守和讽刺的中庸决定了讽刺诗文体形态的稳定,西方讽刺诗由于讽刺诗人的激进造成了文体形态的多变。西方讽刺诗人做人更自由,讽刺诗文体的形态比中国的更丰富多采。

Irony is a language art in social life. Ironical poetry is a poetic style with a long history all over the world. There are many differences in stylistic formation between Chinese ironical poetry and the Western ironical poetry because there are great differences in the politics, culture and the poetic environment between them. Chinese ironical poetry has paid more attention to social life in indirect writing way. The Western ironical poetry usually likes to make fool of people directly. The stylistic evolution is decided by the ironical character. Chinese ironical poets are more conservative than the West ironical poets in style because their life manner and life style are different. Chinese are more conservative. The Western ironical poets have much freedom in life and writing. So the stylistic formation of the Western ironical poetry is richer and more varied.
