The Three Gorges project is a scientific and technical project. The scientific research is incorporated into the overall process of planning, examination, design, construction, operation and management of the project. The technology and technical advancement are the essential assurance for successful construction of the project. Since commencement for 10 years, many breakthroughs and innovations in technology have been made, which provided a guarantee for phase achievements in the construction of the project.
