英汉对比与汉英翻译

A contrastive study of English and Chinese and translation from Chinese to English

本文围绕综合语与分析语、形合与意合、主语显型与主题显型对英汉语主要差异作一简述。结合短文的翻译 ,我们可以认识到英汉对比对翻译具有重要的指导作用。翻译要达到“动态对等” ,译者必然对英汉语的差异有一个全面的了解。

This paper gives a brief account of main differences b etween English and Chinese in terms of synthetic language and analytic language, hypotaxis and parataxis, subject-prominent language and topic-prominent languag e. From the translation of the Chinese passage we can find that English-Chinese contrastive studies play an instructive role in translation. Translators must ha ve a complete understanding of the differences between English and Chinese in or der to achieve dynamic equivalence in their translations.
