Brief Discussion on Causes of Missing Honesty in Socialist Market Economy Situations

随着社会主义市场经济的发展和改革的深入 ,我国社会的不少领域诚信失范的现象十分普遍并继续蔓延 ,这严重地影响了改革的深入进行和社会秩序的稳定。诚信缺失的原因是多方面的 ,既有历史的因素 ,也有现实的原因 ;既有计划经济的影响 ,也有市场经济本身的缺陷 ;既有道德方面的下滑 ,也有法律。

With the development of our socialist market economy and expansion of reform, there has been, in quite some areas in our society, phenomenon of missing honesty, which is not only widespread but is also spreading on. This has seriously affected the further carrying out of the reform and formed a threat on the stability of our social orders. Causes for missing honesty are extensive: factors historically, and realistically; influences from planned economy, and disfigurements in market economy proper; sinking of ethics, and lack of legal and cultural levels.
