The Social Intercourse of the Literati and Officialdom Community in the Late Qing Dynasty

频繁的人际交往既是晚清官僚士人交流学问、寻求友情的重要手段,也生动地反映了处于末世的封建上层社会的腐朽生活。在整个社会生活趋向近代化的过程中,官僚士人没落的人际交往方式受到了先进思想家和新知识界的批判和挑战。伴随着制度鼎革和社会发展,人际交往方式及其观念的现代化变迁已成为不可阻挡之势。

This paper generally discusses the main contents, features and change tendency of the social intercourse of the literati and officialdom community in the late Qing. The frequent social intercourse was not only the important means of academic exchanges and making friends to the literati and officialdom, but also reflected the decadent life of the upperclass society at the end of Chinese feudal society. Furthermore, during the modernization of the whole social life, many advanced thinkers and the new intelligentsia criticized and challenged the decadent social intercourse of the literati and officialdom. With the system revolution and social development, it became an irresistible trend that the means and conception of social intercourse moved towards modernization.
