On Origins of Hainan Li Nationality

有关海南黎族的族源 ,总的来说有三种意见 ,即南来说、北来说以及两源和多源说。海南黎族的主体渊源于岭南土著古越族的一支骆越。最新的考古资料证明 ,她是海南岛最早的土著居民。在长期的历史发展过程中 ,她以民族融合的形式先后吸收过汉族、壮族、回族、正马来人乃至矮黑人 (Pygmy)等多民族和种族的因素 ,是个一源多流的融合体。在族源问题上 ,不存在南来。

There are three points of view on origins of Hainan Li Nationality. That is Southern Immigrants hypothesis, Northern Immigrants hypothesis, and Bi-immigrants or Multi-immigrants hypothesis. In this essay the author indicates that the majority of Hainan Li originates from Luo Yue, which was a branch of ancient Yue Nationality, the Lingnan aboriginal inhabitants. The latest archaeological materials show that Li is the earliest aboriginal inhabitants on Hainan Island. During the development of history, with adopting elements of different nationalities and races, such as Han, Zhuang, Hui, Pure Malaysian and Pygmy, by means of nationality merge, Li comes into a combination that mainly originates from one main stream merging with multi-“Liu” (one main stream merging with multi-immigrants). From this standpoint of nationality origin, Southern Immigrants hypotheses, Northern Immigrants hypotheses, Bi-immigrants or Multi-immigrants hypotheses are all wrong.
